Allie Arnold “Bud” Viars, 86, of New Castle, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 in IU Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born October 31, 1932 in Soldier, Kentucky, as son of the late Jake and Nora (Patton) Viars.
Bud attended school in Kentucky and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Nuturn (formerly Firestone) in New Castle after 30 years of service. His three hobbies were raising horses and horseback riding, motorcycle riding, and flying. A private pilot, he served as President of the New Castle Flight Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Tim (Debbie) Viars of McCordsville; a grandson, Tyler (Erin) Carter of Phoenix, AZ; two great grandsons, Harrison and Hudson Carter, both of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Kennedy) Viars in 2012; a sister, Christine Duvall, and two brothers, George and Donald Viars.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Green Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Rick Evans officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #132 and VFW Post #1282 Honor Guard.
