Barbara Rae “Barb” Brumfiel, 72, of New Castle passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at IU Health Ball Memorial in Muncie. She was born July 9, 1947 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Barb retired from Citizens State Bank, New Castle in 2009 after 38 years of service. She was a member of Golden Eagles. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking and gardening. Barb also enjoyed car shows, NASCAR and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William “Bill” Brumfiel; daughter, Michelle (D.J.) Barnett of Noblesville; son, Michael (Lisa) Hacker of New Castle; grandchildren, Jillian & Nathan Hacker and Connor & Camryn Barnett; step-children; Angela Kelley and Tammy & Missy Brumfiel; several step-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Wright of Georgia, Cindy (John) McKenna of Connecticut and Betsy Hozubin of California; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Huxley and Gertrude (Cullen) Hozubin and her step-father Albert Hozubin.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 7, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 1-3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Miles for Myeloma, c/o IU Foundation, P.O. Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207-7072
