Barbara Rose Carter, 75, of New Castle, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Henry Community Health. She was born January 17, 1943 in New Castle a daughter of Robert Thomas and Edna Earl (Brown) McCormick.
Barbara retired from Walmart in New Castle in 2006. She had previously worked at Henry County Hospital and New Castle State Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and computer games.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rick Carter; two children, Rick (Michele) Carter of Carmel and Staci (Ron) Reece of New Castle; grandchildren, Blake (Heidi) Reece and Madyson Reece; great granddaughter, Riley; two brothers, Marvin Ray (Dina) McCormick of Spiceland, and Thomas (Susan) McCormick of Austin; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Sue Cooper of Ocala, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery at a later date. Condolences and memories of Barbara may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
