Barbara J. Coffin

Barbara J. Coffin, 70, a resident of Knightstown passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born October 23, 1951 in Indianapolis to the late Robert J. and Evelyn Jo (Bartley) Walters, Sr.

Barbara had been a school bus driver for Eastern Hancock School Corp for ten years. She enjoyed shopping, driving, cooking and traveling. Barbara had many friends, even from high school and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years: William David “Bill” Coffin of Knightstown; a daughter: Amanda (Christopher) DeHart of Knightstown; three grandchildren: Lane Coffin-Gutierrez, Alivia Coffin-Gutierrez and Riley DeHart; a brother: Robert (Cindy) Walters, Jr. of Indianapolis and a nephew: Jody A. Walters of Brownsburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Jeffrey Coffin on June 7, 2021.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Chaplain Shawn O’Conner officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, prior to the service.
