Barbara J. Robertson

Barbara J. Robertson, 87, of New Castle, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at I.U. Methodist Hospital. She was born November 30, 1931 in Connersville, IN, to the late Russell and Viola (Lucas) Rankin.

She attended school in Rushville and moved to Henry County in 1974. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and keeping her home. She was a longtime member of the Broad Street Alliance Church in New Castle and also attended First Baptist Church in New Castle.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Cathy Swigart of Milroy, Debbie (Rev. Larry) Rempe of Martinsville, and Mary (Jim) Wilson of New Castle; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughters in law, Beverly Robertson of Milroy and Nancy Robertson of Greensburg; a brother, Tom (Gladys) Rankin of Wilder, KY; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Robertson; two sons, Marion and Paul Robertson; a grandson, Matthew Robertson; two great granddaughters; two sisters, Rose Evelyn Rankin and Marilyn Walters; a brother, Larry Rankin.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Larry Rempe officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
