Bercie Ruth Hill

Bercie Ruth Hill, 86, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born and raised in Albany, Kentucky in September 1935, to the late James Roscoe & Fratie Ellen Cowan Sloan.

Ruth was a loving Mother and Grandmother with great compassion and love for her extended family and friends, avid reader and loved to travel. A small backyard garden was a favorite along with growing beautiful flowers from seed. She enjoyed looking back at her family history and would share old time stories from her childhood. Her favorite birds are the Indiana Cardinal and the Peace Dove. She worked for many years outside her home along with raising her 5 children. She will be missed and loved for eternity.

Ruth is survived by her children; Rick Hill of New Castle, Jeff (Judy) Hill of Killen, Al, Tim Hill of New Castle and Kathy (Barry) Dorn of Sanford, FL; sister, Martha of Milton; along with grandchildren, Kyle, Leigh, Jennifer, Allison, Sarah, Tim and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and her loving pets, Molly, Ralphie and Rusty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Hill; daughter, Judy Ellen Hill; brothers, George W. Sloan and James Lee Sloan; sister, Marjorie Imagene Sloan, Sue Shelton and Eula Wallen.

Services will 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Susan G.
