Bessie F. Meador, 92, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Glen Oaks Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 1, 1926 in Kyrock, KY to the late Robert and Ethel (Graves) Helson.
She retired from RCA Corp in 1986 after 35 years of service and was a member of New Castle First Church of the Nazarene. Bessie was a former member of Spiceland order of Eastern Star and Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and watching college basketball; especially IU.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. (Linda) Meador of New Castle; grandchildren, Shawn M. (Sarah) Meador and Krista K. Linville both of New Castle; great-grandchildren, Nicholas J. Meador, Sydney Meador, Shawn Linville and Bryce Miller; brothers, John (Ann) Helson of Sweden, KY and LaDon (Nancy) Helson of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Meador, Sr. on August 10, 1963; siblings, Cleve Helson, Bea Meador, James Helson, Bill Helson and an infant sister, Annie Ruth Helson.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Danny Goddard and Norwood Kreuzinger officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday prior to the service. You may express condolences or share a memory of Bessie at www.hinsey-brown.com .
