Betty Louise Crabtree, 92, of New Castle, passed away Monday March 30, 2020 at Henry Community Health. She was born January 13, 1928 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Elmer and Violet (Ward) Ellington.

Betty attended Mt. Summit High School and retired from Chrysler Corporation following more than 25 years of service. She loved cooking for her family and friends. Betty enjoyed flower gardening and took great pride in her flower gardens. She was a dedicated Ladies Auxiliary member of the Eagles, and worked the door for many years. Betty managed the Fraternal Order of the Police for several years and was also a member of the New Lisbon Christian Church.

Betty is survived by her three children; Sue (Jim) Claar of New Lisbon, Marcia (Larry Mogg) Crabtree of New Castle, and Wendell (Mary) Crabtree of Kokomo; grandchildren, Mike Pollitt, Julie Pollitt, Jill (Jeremy) Linder, Victor (Goldie) Claar, Brent (Denise) Crabtree, Matthew (Emily) Crabtree, Kyle Crabtree, Maren (Matt) Perdue, Michelle Mogg; several great grand and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Troy Crabtree; grandchildren, Jeff Pollitt, Shane Crabtree, and Deanna Lowe; great grandchild, Elizabeth Linder; and siblings, Anna Haskett, Deward Ellington, and Doris Walden.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition with Pastor Mark Lomison officiating. As most know, Betty lost a grandchild last week. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, 1704 Grand Ave., Connersville, IN 47331 or envelopes will be available at Hinsey-Brown to help assist the family with his expenses.
