Carole E. Soper, 78, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Reid Health in Richmond. She was born February 4, 1942 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Herman Amburgey and Pansy (Hughes) Griffey.
She retired from K.I.P.T. and was very active in the Recovery Community. Carole loved her T.P.L.C. Church family. She was an avid bingo player, loved helping people, traveling to new places and working around her home and yard. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Rick (Diane) Dean, Beth (companion, Greg Talsma) Davis, James (Velma) Dean and Kimberly (Donnie) Evan; grandchildren, Josh (Chrystal) Dean, Jessica (Trent) Gossar, Sue (Harry) Andersen and Gerry (companion, Justin Carver) Ford; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Mastin and Marilyn Shore; brother, Roger Colyer; two nephews, Greg & Jeff Duvall and several cousins; Carole’s companion, Dale Lowe.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by step father, Calvin Griffey; granddaughter, Jennifer Ford; brothers-in-law, Jim Shore and Clifford Mastin and several aunts & uncles.
Services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Matt Perdue officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Due to COVID 19 and the governor’s mandate, face coverings will be required. Memorial contributions may be given to Little Blessings, 2263 Indiana Avenue, New Castle, IN 47362.
