Catherine Kadel, 77, of New Castle passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Heritage House of New Castle following an extended illness. She was born February 22, 1932 in Terre Haute, IN, a daughter of the late Fred and Sena (Monahan) Cahill.
Catherine was a 1951 graduate of a Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute. She had been employed at the New Castle Chrysler High School in the cafeteria for approximately 20 years before retiring in 1994. Catherine loved animals especially her dog Sampson and she also enjoyed vacationing in Florida.
Survivors include her children: Debbie Stanton and David Kadel both of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Kadel; two brothers: Bill and Michael Cahill.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society or the Arthritis Foundation Indiana Chapter with envelopes available at the funeral home.
