Charles “Randy” Rummel

Charles “Randy” Rummel, 69, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Henry Community Health. He was born March 19, 1952 in New Castle the son of Eugene Charles and Charlotta (Hawk) Rummel.

Randy graduated from Rushville High School in 1970 and retired from Allegheny Ludlum after 40 years of service. He enjoyed deer hunting, raising chickens and selling eggs to people in Knightstown. Randy supported his children in their school activities and in 4-H, and family vacations were always spent during the 4-H fair. He is the oldest of 6 children and enjoyed spending time with his family. He had also served in the National Guard and enjoyed watching IU Basketball and college sports.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rummel of Knightstown; children, Grant (Sam Sortor) Rummel of Whitestown, Seth (Kimber) Rummel of Muncie; grandsons, Kayson, Kyzer and Kagan; step children, Zeb (Camille) Locke, Wes Locke, Jenni Locke, Spencer (Brittany) Locke, Tyler Locke, Olivia Locke and Audrey Locke; siblings, Vicky (Jeff) Toon of Manilla, Cammy (Jeff) Theobold of New Castle and Tim (Brenda) Rummel of Rush County; sister-in-law, Kathy Rummel; mother of his children, Sheryl Rummel; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Rummel and sister, Cathy Rummel.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Emily Sortor officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM Thursday. Condolences and memories of Randy may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
