Christian Evan Burge was born October 5, 2008 at Ocala Memorial Hospital in Florida, a special blessing to his parents, Mark and Kari. He loved southern gospel music, concerts, the outdoors, riding with his mom and dad in the golf cart, and camping with family and friends.
While Christian was nonverbal, he communicated so much with his eyes, smiles, and laugh. He shared his expression of joy whenever his friends or family entered the room. Even though life brought him many challenges, he lived a full life and was a blessing to everyone he met. In his short time, he was fighter and overcame several obstacles. While the doctors said he wouldn’t make it past his 3rd birthday, Christian was a fighter and gained his wings on his 13th birthday while resting comfortably in his bed holding his dad and mom’s hands. His life was a true testament to his name, Christian “follower of Christ”, Evan “young warrior”.
Survivors include his parents Mark and Kari Burge of Springport; maternal grandmother, Karol Wolfe Thompson of Ohio; aunt, Judy Wolfe of Summerfield, Florida; uncles, Jeff (Tonya) Wolfe of New Castle and Mark (Kathy) Wolfe of Kokomo; paternal grandparents, Rev. Curtis & Wavelene Burge of Middletown; uncles, Phil (Barb) Burge of Springport, Tim Burge of Corydon and Matt (Lynnette) Burge of New Castle; aunt, Diana (Mark) Ranke of Corydon and several cousins from both sides of the family.
