Cindy Ann Sweigart

Cindy Ann Sweigart, 66, of New Castle entered eternal life on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 24, 1956 in Anderson, Indiana, a daughter of the late Richard Oliver and Anna Lois (Heiny) Childs.

Cindy was a 1975 Madison Heights High School graduate. She worked for New Castle School Corporation in the food service department. Cindy loved and lived for her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, mamaw and aunt! At the age of 32, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She was always strong and had the best attitude. Cindy never let her diagnosis keep her down. She also enjoyed dancing with her love, Dale, to the Golden Oldies, especially the song “You’re Still the One”.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 48 years, Dale A. Sweigart; son Kevin (Marilyn) Sweigart; grandsons, Alex, Cesar, Jakob, Dominik, and Trenton; siblings, Ronda Shaffer, Kathy Johnson, David Childs and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her son, Jason “Shorty” Sweigart; and daughter in law, Stacy Ann (Penrose) Sweigart.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with a time of sharing starting at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, 375 Kings Highway North Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
