Clarence "Dude" Goodwin, 89, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Henry Community Health. He was born August 10, 1931 in Fleming County Kentucky, the son of Walter and Nancy (Jackson) Goodwin.
A graduate of Knightstown High School, Dude was a veteran of the US Marines, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Draper Shade and Screen after 28 years as a foreman. Dude was a member of the Knightstown American Legion for 59 years. He was also a member of the Indiana Freemasonry, Golden Rule Lodge No. 16 in Knightstown for over 50 years.
He is survived by his step daughter, Brenda (Richard) Jackson of New Palestine; three step grandchildren, Jason, Jodi, and Mike; seven step great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents; Dude is preceded in death by his wife, Madge M. (Grigson) Goodwin; sisters, Lena Caudill, Grace Thompson, Dessa Morgan, and Goldie M. Jackson; brothers George and Oral Goodwin; and stillborn twin brothers.
Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, with Rev. Travis Hacker officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 19, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Knightstown American Legion and a contingent of the US Marines.
