Connie M. Cross

Connie M. Cross, 73, of New Castle passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 5, 1948 in Henry County to the late Joe and Hazel (Sparks) Johnson.

Connie graduated from New Castle High School then went to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser for many years. She was a 4-H leader, homemaker, enjoyed babysitting and babysat many children over the years. Connie also enjoyes attending sporting events and watching her daughters and granddaughters show horses.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gene Cross; daughters, Jodee (Andy) Lanzer and Jill Cross (Chris Roush); grandchildren, Julie and Jessie Lanzer and a special cousin, Peggy (Bob) Ponto.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service for both Connie and Gene will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may visit from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. You may express condolences or share a memory of Connie at www.hinsey-brown.com .
