David E. Brown, 65, of Greensboro, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 18, 1953 in Rushville to the late Kenneth Edward and Hattie Louise (Hatfield) Brown.
David was a 1971 graduate of Rushville High School and a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army serving two tours as a combat engineer. He owned and operated Park Restaurant in Rushville for many years. He worked at the State Highway Department as an engineer, 7-Up bottling company as a delivery service manager and also at Marsh as assistant manager of the New Castle store. David loved music, playing guitar, gardening, movies, and his dog, Jackson; but especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Renee (Reynolds) Brown of Greensboro; children, Zack (Angel) Brown of Shelbyville, Anna Marie Brown of Roanoke, VA, and Joshua David Brown of Straughn; grandchildren, Taylor Jones of New Castle, VA, Kaleb Pike of Shelbyville, Kialyr Brown of Shelbyville, Kody Brown of Shelbyville, and Jayden Patterson of Roanoke, VA; great grandchildren, McKenna and Branson Jones of New Castle, VA: mother-in-law, Ida Reynolds of New Castle, IN; sisters-in-law, Donna Showalter and Julie Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Kenny Brown, Rebecca Brown and Mary Lou French.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Donnie Pyle officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #152 and contingents of the U.S. Army. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Sunday.
