David Wilhelm Engstrom II

David Wilhelm Engstrom II, age 69 of Jonesboro, IN passed away on July 3, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 11, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington to Glen and Lucille Engstrom.

David was a complex person who spent a lot of time in deep thought. To many, he was a confidant and counselor. David had many roles: avid student of the gospel, teacher of the word, warrior for the truth, he was a husband, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend. Anyone that had the honor of knowing him knew he took all these roles seriously. David was the kind of person that would take a stranger off the street and give them a home, feed them, clothe them. He would give someone he did not know his most expensive and prized bible because they did not have one, and they needed to know the gospel.

David truly was one of a kind. He will be remembered for his strong leadership and quirky sense of humor. He was a serious person, but his gentle spirit was a beacon. The void of David’s passing is already felt by all that knew him.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bruce Crabtree officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. prior to the service. You may express condolences or share a memory of David at www.hinsey-brown.com .
