David J. Jones

David J. Jones, 65, of Bedford and formerly of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 6, 1955 in Rushville, a son of Ralph Benjamin Jones and Joyce May (Gorman) Jones-Tompkins.

David was self employed as a drywall hanger for many years and was also a “highway man”. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by five children, Katrina “Katie” (Aaron) Teske of Lafontaine, Kelly (John) Folbrecht of Wabash, Kassady (Jacob) Schock of Carthage, Nathaniel (Courtney) Jones of Bedford and Travis (Ashley) Jones of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Wyatt, Meadow, Gage, Brayden, Lyla, Parker, Peyton, Macey, Lily, Kinsey, Kelsey, Coleson, Cameron, Isaiah, Aubrey, Benjamin and William; his wife of 39 years, Edna L. Jones of Shirley; siblings, Dan (Alice) Jones of Shirley, Susie (Bobby) Wilson of KY, Jack (Mary Iva) Jones of Greenfield, Shannon (Teresa) Jones of Greenfield, Beth Idlewine of Shirley, Charlie “Chuck” (Melody) Jones of Mt. Vernon, Kimberly (Mark) Taylor of Indianapolis, Johnny (Jack) Tompkins of IL, Ronnie (Sue) Jones of Knightstown, John Jones of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Hunter Folbrecht; brothers, Joey Jones and Robert (Bubby) Jones.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Dan D’Angelo officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
