Donald Michael (Mickey) Ballard

Donald Michael (Mickey) Ballard, 84, passed away Thursday June 9, 2022, at Addison Place Assisted Living, New Castle, Indiana. He was born March 4, 1938, in New Castle, son of the late Donald G and Julia (Mayer) Ballard.
Mickey was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School. He was a hardworking family man devoting many years of service to the box plant in New Castle and Westinghouse in Muncie before dedicating 30 years to Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 2003. He was an expert welder, providing welding services to many. He enjoyed singing to his favorite country music while working in the barn on any home maintenance or automobile upkeep required at the time.
Survivors include his wife, Evie E Ballard; son, Michael P (Cynthia) Ballard of Flora; stepdaughter, Theresa Oliver of Tennessee; stepson, Leland Oliver of New Castle; sister, Maryetta Ford of New Castle; two granddaughters: Kylie J (Kyle) Hardwick of Temple Texas; Hannah L Ballard of Flora; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsey L (Marsh) Ballard; daughter, Jennifer L (Shane) DuVall; grandson, Joshua D DuVall; three sisters, Judy Melton; Patty Burns; Jeannie Sharp.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2022 a Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm. Noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
