Donald R. Herran

Donald R. Herran, 82, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at The Waters of New Castle following an extended illness. He was born September 9, 1937 in South Bend, IN to the late Bud Herran and Reba Irene (Craig) Riggs.
Don resided most of his life in Michigan. He was the forge and foundry superintendent for Chrysler Corporation. He later worked as the shop supervisor for Harry Major Machine Company. He enjoyed living on the water, admiring lighthouses, riding motorcycles and flying airplanes. He loved the great outdoors and being surrounded by nature.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Bise; son Brad Herran; grandchildren, Shalei Rogers (Justin Hunt), Josh (Amy) Herran, Lauren (Josh) Carlson, Justin Herran and Garrett Bise; great granddaughter, Makenna Hunt; siblings, Randy (Kathi) Riggs, Ronnie Riggs and Mark (Darcy) Riggs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Herran; grandmother, Edith Moyer; and a brother, Jeff Herran.
