Doris Ellen Kinney

Doris Ellen Kinney, 93, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at The Waters in New Castle. She was born December 7, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of Herman and Inez (Bradfield) Byrket.

Doris lived in Indiana till moving to Banning, CA in 1987 and then returned to Indiana in May of 2008. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in New Castle. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles and her favorite character was Snoopy.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Clifford) Butler of Knightstown; three sons, Anson Saunders of New Castle; Andy (Kimbra Duncan) Saunders of New Castle and Clifford Saunders of Lake Elsmore, CA; grandsons, Jonathan (Tiffany Ellis) Butler of Yorktown and Brian Butler of Knightstown; great grandsons, Zachary, Jacob and Joshua Butler of Yorktown; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herschell Saunders and second husband, Delbert Kinney; sisters, Claire Pryor and Nancy Byrket; a brother, Leon Byrket; infant sons, Mark and Roger.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Minister Don Harsh officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
