Dortha D. Stephens

Dortha D. Stephens, 90, of Dublin passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was born October 19, 1930 in Union City, Indiana, a daughter of the late Glen and Bessie (Neff) Frick.

Born and raised in Union City, moving to Indianapolis in 1978. Dortha attended Union City High School. She retired from FRAM in Greenville, Ohio after 20 years of service. She was a member of Indianapolis Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ for many years, later attended Grace Assembly in Indianapolis and currently a member of Grace Community Church in Richmond. She traveled with her husband, the late Rev. Robert Stephens who was a national evangelist with the Church of God in Christ for many years.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Rodolfo) Garza, Jr., Cheryl (Jim) Pollitt, Jr., Barry (Marie) Stephens, Tony (Chris) Stephens and Danny (Misty) Stephens; 16 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Mary Stephens and many more who she was a mother or grandmother to.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Stephens in 2008; children, Lowell Stephens, Sandy Stephens; one grandson, a great grandson and a daughter in law, Velma “Bambi” Stephens.

Visitation will be Friday, April 16, 2021 from 5-9 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at Community Fellowship Church, 1051 N Jackson Pike, Union City, IN 47390 with Pastor Gary Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
