E. Louise "Weesie" Hopkins

E. Louise “Weesie” Hopkins, 80, of New Castle passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born September 26, 1940 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Frank and Lula (Logan) Hamm.

Louise attended Assembly of God and Spiceland Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and canning. Louise loved spending time with her friends & family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, working in her yard, rummaging, & clogging. She had been den mother, room mother and formerly worked as a foster grandparent at Parker Elementary School.

Survivors include three children, Terry L. (Sheila) Hopkins, of New Castle, Tamara R. Hopkins of Lebanon, Ohio and Kimberly D. Hopkins of New Castle; six grandchildren, David Furrow, Elizabeth Furrow, Brittney Massingill, Megan Massingill, Shelby Fisher and Brady Fisher; three great grandchildren, Lucas Gates, Rowan Davenport and Salem Brown; sister, Wanda Oakes of Robinson, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Tillard E. Hopkins and a sister, Janice Hamm.

Upon her request there will only be graveside services at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Green Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Gene Bennett officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231 or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
