Edna Gillam

July 22, 1930 — April 28, 2021

Edna Gillam, 90, of Charlottesville, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 22, 1930 in Onieda, TN, the daughter of Layton and Rose Mary (Foster) Slaven.

Edna and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV which included traveling to all 49 states. She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, loved planting flowers and feeding her birds.

Edna is survived by three daughters, Mary Ellen Jackson of Kennard, Barbara Ann Greene of Kentucky and Judy May Sloan of Oneida, TN; two sons, James C. (Kathy) Gillam of Knightstown and Steven R.L. Gillam (Jeff Gates) of Anderson; seven grandsons, four granddaughters; several great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Gillam; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday. Condolences and memories of Edna may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
