Edward Merl "Ed" Perry

July 21, 1933 - December 25, 2021

Edward Merl “Ed” Perry, 88, of Muncie and formerly of New Castle passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1933 in Millville to the late Merl and Beulah (Miller) Perry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ed retired from the Delco Battery Division of General Motors in 1983 after over 30 years of service. A member and deacon of Buck Creek Church of the Brethren, Ed was baptized at the Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Chris Perry, Joyce Hines and David R. Perry, all of Muncie; grandchildren, Barbara Perry of Muncie, Karen Antrim of New Castle, Larry (Leah) Perry of Greenfield, Penny Antrim of New Castle, Cecil (Jenny) Martin of Avon; great grandchildren, Zane and Alyssa Grubbs, Benjamin and Kamden Perry; a brother: Jim Perry of Mooreland and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 62 years: Carolyn “Suzanne” (Hedrick) Perry; a son, Larry Perry; a sister: Karen Gard and two brothers: Darrell and John David Perry. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021at Buck Creek Church of the Brethren, 8802 N. Buck Creek Pike Mooreland, IN, 47360. Pastor Kevin Whitmore will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Association or Buck Creek Church of the Brethren with envelopes available at the funeral home and church.
