Eleanor “Kay” Houchins, 77, of Dunreith, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1942 in Henry County the daughter of Richard and Ruth “Williams” Hunt.
Kay had been employed at Hilltop Florist and formerly at Weiland’s Flowers in New Castle. She also provided home healthcare for about 7 years. Kay attended Community Baptist Church in Raysville. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, cooking, flower arranging and various crafts. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Houchins of Dunreith; daughter, Lisa (Ric) Hall of Knightstown, son-in-law, Tim Johnson of Knightstown; step-children, Allen (Jennifer) Houchins of New Castle, Brenda (Mike) Todd of Pendleton, Barbara (Steve) Fort of New Paris, OH; grandchildren, Trista (Jordan) Pruett, Taylor (Savannah) Cox, Cale (Kim) Johnson, Logan Johnson; several great grandchildren and step grandchildren; aunt, Ruth Williams of Dunreith; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Raeann Johnson on May 17, 2020; sister, Donna Green; maternal grandparents, Harry and Anna Williams.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Tony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.
