Ellen F. Lacy

Ellen F. Lacy, 89, of New Castle passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 31, 1929 in Tateville, KY to the late John T. and Bertha D. (Cox) Stigall.

Ellen was a homemaker and military wife living in England, France and Germany. She loved Avon, her rose garden in her back yard and making flower arrangements with her sister, Lorene. Ellen collected Indians and enjoyed playing card, she especially loved to teach her grandchildren how to play solitaire. Ellen loved coffee and it was very special to her grandchildren to get a sip out of her coffee cup.

She is survived by her sons, Danny B. (Brenda Kay) Lacy of Anderson and Donald B. (Joyce) Lacy of New Castle; grandsons, Tim Lacy (fiancé, Jenny Chastain) of Anderson and Donnie Lacy (fiancé, Wendy Atkinson) of New Castle; granddaughters, Anna Mechelle Lacy of Kokomo and Sally (Chad) Carlton of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Jeffery Alan of Louisville, KY, Angel Dawn (Nathan) Prince of New Castle, Taylor Carlton of Arizona, Blake Carlton of Greenfield, Brittney (Danny) Mills of Kokomo, Zach Lacy of Spiceland, Tim Lacy Jr. of Anderson, Lance Michael Lacy of Anderson, Savannah Marie (Casey) Anderson; great-great grandchildren, Ezra, Rylee, Adrianna, Chloe and Lilly; sisters, Lorene Larrimore of TN and Alice Shelton of Monticello, KY; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Lacy Sr.; son, Timothy Howard Lacy; 4 sisters, 3 brothers and a grandson, Charles David Lacy.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.
