Emmett Fred Troxell

September 21, 1922 — November 29, 2020

Emmett Fred Troxell, 98, a resident of New Castle passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Hickory Creek in New Castle. He was born September 21, 1922 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Cyrus William and Ethel (Neal) Troxell.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II. Emmett retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1975 after nearly 35 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and a former member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges in New Castle.

Survivors include his children: Linda (Mike) Whitehead of New Castle, Edith (Ralph) Roberts of Florida and Monte Troxell of New Castle; a step-son: Duane Sewell of Texas; a brother: Elmer Troxell of New Castle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; a son: Larry Troxell; a step-son: Monte Lee Sewell; seven siblings: Alfred, Leo, Bob, John, Wilma, Jessie and Bessie and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Military graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 4, 2020 at South Mound Cemetery with a contingent of the U.S. Army, American Legion and the VFW. Due to Covid-19 and the governor’s mandate, face coverings will be required. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
