Emory Lee Wilhelm, 82, of New Castle passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born March 9, 1938 in Pennville, Indiana, a son of the late Flora & Alley Blake and Vernon Wilhelm.
Lee attended New Castle Schools and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Emory retired from Dana Corporation and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion. He loved bowling, euchre and fishing.
Survivors include his companion, Carol Baker; daughter, Rhonda Ballenger of New Castle; son, Scott (Rachel) Wilhelm of Ohio; grandchildren, Brittany (Trevor) Easton, Dusty Ballenger, Brandon Wilhelm of Fort Leonardwood, MO; and Mattison & Morgan Wilhelm.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Parrish whom he married in 1960; sister & brother-in-law, Georgina & Dave Cline; two nephews, Jerry & Tim Cline and a son-in-law, James Ballenger.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bret Rains officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Monday until time of services at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be conducted by the Greensboro Masonic Lodge at 12:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19 and the governor’s mandate, face coverings will be required.
