Ernest Gordon William Clayborn

Ernest Gordon William Clayborn, 32, of New Castle passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born October 9, 1987 in New Castle to Ernest “Skip” and Julia (Hunter) Clayborn.

He was a 2006 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, where he played for the Trojans on the football team. After high school, Ernie was recruited and served in the U.S. Army for three years. He enjoyed barbequing, watching movies, watching videos on YouTube and was a self-taught bass guitar player. Ernie had a kind heart and would help anyone in need. Most of all, he loved spending time with his son, Brody, and his family.

Survivors include his son, Brody Alexander; parents, Skip and Julie Clayborn; siblings, Jul and Brandon Clayborn; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a sister, Amy Camille Clayborn.

There will be a memorial service held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Matt Daffron officiating.
