Eugene Wilson

January 29, 1931 - May 14, 2022

Eugene Wilson, 91, of Carthage passed away Saturday May 14, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1931 in Somerset, KY to the late George and Julie (Gosser) Wilson. Eugene retired from Chrysler after 21 ½ years of service. He was a 70 year member of Carthage and Lewisville Masonic Lodges. Eugene was a Volunteer fireman for Carthage for over 40 years, helped take care of the Riverside Cemetery for several years. He loved to garden, go fishing and grill out. Eugene was one to always lend a helping hand to all of his friends or neighbors in their time of need. He is survived by his sons, Bruce (Joanie) Wilson and Michael (Tammy Reynolds) Wilson both of Carthage; grandchildren, Erik Wilson, Patrick Wilson, Lindsey York and Thomas Linville; sisters, Josephine Wilson and Jeanette Hooker. In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lavada Wilson; daughter, Robin Wilson; stepmother, Martha Wilson; sisters, Juanita and Sarah; brothers, Arvey and Ned; grandchildren, Kristen Wilson, Noah Wilson and Brian Linville. Services will be Friday May 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service.
