Frances Bell Appleby

Frances Bell Appleby, 84, of New Castle went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at IU Health Ball Hospital. She was born June 19, 1936 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Relsa (Agee) Sidwell.

Frances was an active member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church. She was an exceptionally good cook and loved cooking for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, crossword puzzles and following her husband’s retirement, they liked attending flea markets and traveling and had traveled to all the lower 48 states. Mostly, she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Frances and Jessie also enjoyed time in Albany, Kentucky and attended Albany Independent Baptist Church while there.

Survivors include her sons, John (Sheila) Appleby of Mooreland, James (Samantha) Appleby of Greenfield; grandchildren: Leah (Grant) Michael, Lori (Aaron) Evans, Leslie (Stephen) Stashevsky, Clayton and Jacob Appleby; great grandchildren, Connor Michael, Rowan Evans and Parker Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie K. Appleby; six brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Due to Covid 19, services will be held privately.
