Frederick "Freddie" Smith

Frederick “Freddie” L. Smith, 75, of New Castle, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born April 12, 1944 in New Castle a son of Isaac and Mildred (Sorrell) Smith.

Freddie retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1997 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the New Castle Eagles and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and playing guitar with friends. He especially loved refurbishing old cars. Fred loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Tim (Melody) Smith; grandchildren, Tyler (Kayla) Smith, Kelly Jo Smith, Mallory (Bobby) Warner, Coty Conaster and Madison Smith; great granddaughter, Brayleigh Walker; sisters, Connie Faucett and Sharon (Don) Boyd; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky (Teel) Smith; his second wife, Brenda (Conaster) Smith; sons, Tom, Andy and Jon Smith; sister, Kay; and brother, Donnie.

Services will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
