Gayron L. Allen, 76, of New Castle passed away November 1, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born October 22, 1942 in New Castle to the late Duff Allen and Zelma (Melton) Davis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam and retired from Ingersoll Steel following 38 years of service. Gayron loved his family, animals and restoring and selling old cars. He enjoyed gardening, collecting model cars, NASCAR, traveling and an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Charlotte Allen of New Castle; sister, Wilma Reneau of New Castle; sister-in-law, Kathy (Ron) Browning; brothers-in-law, Johnny (Merry) Meadows and Billy Meadows; nephews, Mickey, Ronnie and Randy Reneau, Rick and Gerald Gwinn, John and Daniel Meadows, Bert (Teresa) Brummett and Tony (Chris) Rhodes; nieces, Teresa (Randy) Pendleton, Jessica (Thurnia) Meadows Rogers, Ronni Lisa (Seth) Bunch and Jennifer (Richard) Fallon; step-sister, Vicki (Lloyd) Rigney; several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Avalene Riggle, brother, Burnal Allen, father and mother-in-law, Carl and Letha Meadows, sister-in-law, Donna Rabe, brothers-in-law, Raymond Reneau, Delbert Brummett and Bill Rabe and nephew, Chris Meadows.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Allen Polston officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitations will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service. Military honors conducted by contingents from the U.S. Army, American Legion and VFW.
