Geraldine Faye Strong

Geraldine Faye Strong, 90, of New Castle, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born January 20, 1927 in Carthage a daughter of Maine and Edith May (Brooks) Magee.

Geraldine was an active member of South Memorial Drive Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and antiques.

She is survived by a son, Herman Strong of New Castle; two granddaughters, Chianti (John) Guy and Amanda (Corey Lindsay) Strong, both of New Castle; one grandson, Aaron (Tracy) Strong of New Castle; five great grandchildren, Adam and Tiana Guy, Kaylea and Kennedi Strong, Auriah, PJ and Ashlyn Lindsay; one brother, Richard Magee of Spiceland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene Strong; infant son, Larry Gene Strong; three brothers, Farris, Ronnie and Freddie Magee; four sisters, Darlene Muir, Virginia Norfleet, Gloria Plank and Louella Magee; stepmother, Flora Magee.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to South Memorial Drive Church of God, 3800 S Memorial Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.
