Gretchen Dempsey

Gretchen Dempsey, 71, of New Castle passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at IU Heath Methodist Hospital. She was born March 28, 1949 in New Castle to the late Richard and Fannie (Myers) Dempsey.

Gretchen lived in New Castle her entire life and graduated from New Castle High School in 1967. She retired from Central Indiana Cancer Center. Gretchen loved shopping and her dogs Sampson and Sebastian. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Jennifer (Barry) Owsley; nieces, Jessica (Anthony) Jones and Rachael (Corey) Cole; great nieces and nephews, Anthony Dunn, Anaijah Dunn, Anisa Jones, McKinzie, McKayla and McKynna Cole and Aliya Jones; special friend, Butch Grimm; best friend, Maribeth and Sharon; along with a host of many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Condolences and memories of Gretchen may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
