Harry William "Bill" McCormick

Harry William “Bill” McCormick Jr., 78, of Springport peacefully passed away at his home on Monday July 12, 2021. He was born on April 15, 1943 in New Castle, a son of the late Walter and Lois June (Wickliff) Stanley.

Bill was a 1961 graduate of Muncie Central High School where he was a decorated track star and Indiana State Champion. Following high school, he joined the US Army and proudly and honorably served his country and was a member of the New Castle American Legion. Bill retired from General Motors Corporation following 30 plus years of service. He loved traveling especially to national parks with his family. Bill could be found everyday hiking the trails at Summit Lake State Park. Bill was very kind and generous person who loved family gatherings and spending time with his family. If he could tell us all one thing, it would be “spend as much time with your family as possible.”
Bill is survived by his children, Brent (companion, Marcella Nunez) McCormick of New Castle and Elizabeth (companion, Jay Roudebush) McCormick Rozzi of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Cody McCormick of Colorado Springs, CO and Kayleigh Rozzi of Indianapolis.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his companion and best friend, Linda Nancy McCormick; brother, Mike McCormick.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Memorial contributions maybe given to the New Castle American Legion 419 New York Ave. New Castle, In 47362. You may express condolences or share a memory of Bill at www.hinsey-brown.com .
