Helen I. Semler

Helen I. Semler, 92, of New Castle passed away Friday, February 09, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born June 8, 1925 in Henry County to the late Thomas W. and Mary E. (Baty) Razor.

She was a 1943 graduate of Mt. Summit High School and attended Muncie Business College. Helen had worked in the office at Perfect Circle in Hagerstown and in the office at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle, but she was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of South Memorial Drive Church of God, where she was in the Joy Sunday School Class and Karing Keenagers.

She is survived by her sons, Don (Kathy) Semler of New Castle, Ron (Linda) Semler of Plainfield, Jim (Lori) Semler of Bremerton, WA and Jerry (Trina) Semler of North Manchester, IN; nine grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Semler of Noblesville, Tonya (Chris) Conwell of New Castle, Beau (Amy) Semler, and Andrew Semler, both of Plainfield, Amy (Steve) Eads, Kristen Semler of Bremerton, WA, Daniel Semler (Jennifer Jones)of FL, Cody (Jessica) Semler of Pendleton, and Jacob Semler, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Nevaeh and Conner Conwell, all of New Castle, Tyler and Allie Semler both of Noblesville, Chloe and Ian Semler, both of Plainfield, Carter Semler of FL, Delta Eads, Reneelynn, Hannah, and Gabriella Semler, all of Bremerton, WA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Semler in 1991, brother, Lowell Razor; sister, Pearl Hedrick Odell, and granddaughter, Cara Semler.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at South Memorial Drive Church of God in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
