Jacquelyn Lee (McKinley) Jones, 68, of Spiceland passed away on Monday, Dec 30 after an 8-year battle with ovarian cancer. She fought with dignity and grace, and never gave up hope. She was truly an inspiration to family and friends.

Jackie was born on October 15, 1951 in Van Nuys, California to the late Robert Glenn and Helen Murriel (Guild) McKinley.

Jackie graduated from Richmond High School in 1969 and earned her elementary education degree from Ball State University in 1973. Her elementary teaching career included Whitewater, Carthage, Kennard, and Knightstown. She retired from teaching in 2013.

In addition to her love of teaching, Jackie loved spending time with her family, flower gardening, card making, scrapbooking, making baskets, and reading. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, ISTA/NEA, Henry County Retired Teachers, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

She married H. Robert “Bob” Jones Jr. on December 20, 1975 in Richmond, Indiana. They had 3 sons, Joshua (Amber) Jones, Zachary (Amanda) Jones and Samuel Jones. In addition to her husband, sons, and mother, she is survived by her brother, Robert McKinley, sisters, Judy (Buck) Benge and Jeanne (Fred) Roberts, niece, Tricia (Benge) Harris, nephews, Jonathan Benge and Brett (Selinna) Roberts and her grandchildren that she adored: Elliott Jones, Ashby Jones, Makenzie Foga, Dylan Foga, Allie Jones, Silas Jones, and Idella Jones.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Howard R. Jones Sr. and mother-in-law, Henrietta Jones.

At the request of the family, there will be a private memorial service held later. A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will also accept any donations of bottle caps, so a park bench can be made and donated in Jackie's memory. Services have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
