James “Lloyd” Gibson, 82, of Lynn passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 18, 1937 in Albany, Kentucky to the late James Edgar and Bonnie Elbert (Bertram) Gibson.
Lloyd retired from Kabert Fiberglass in Lynn following more than 40 years of service. He had previously worked at Chrysler Corp. and Spartan Casket as well. Lloyd was a jack of all trades and enjoyed gardening. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, where he was known to be overly protective.
Survivors include his children, Tony Gibson of Lynn, Rick (Laurie) Gibson of Lynn, Pam (Larry) George of Avon, and Amanda (Shane) Bragg of Lynn; grandchildren, Chelsea (Nick) Pruitt, Morgan Gibson, Brooke (Hunter) Curtis, Kyler and Payton Bragg, Nicholas George, Tiffany (Andy) Schwend; great grandchildren, Chloe and Ryan Schwend and three more due in January of 2020; brother, Bob Gibson of Greenfield; brother in law, Harlan Hoover of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife in 2016, Eva Lucille Gibson; sisters, Florede Gibson, Molene Wiggins, Louise Guffey and Donreta Hoover; brothers, Woodrow Gibson and Esco Gibson.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Kumar, Southern Care Hospice and staff for their loving care Lloyd received.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Jaco officiating and music by niece, Traci Jaco. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
