Jeanette Tabor

Jeanette Tabor, 86, a resident of New Castle passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Henry Community Health. She was born October 23, 1934 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Cleff and Laura Jane (Jones) Madden.

Jeanette was a 70 year member of Northside Church of God in New Castle where she taught Sunday school for many years. She had been employed as a cafeteria worker at Riley School and also worked at Brooks Foods, Firestone and Western Electric in Indianapolis. Jeanette enjoyed helping others and was a Godly example to young mothers down through the years. She also supervised fellowship hall dinners at the church and enjoyed walking at the high school. Her greatest joy was getting together with her family.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 70 years: Paul Leon Tabor, whom she married January 27, 1951; children: Brenda (Bobby) Duvall of New Castle, Danny (Rachel) Tabor of Bradenton, Florida and Janet Louise (Frank) Fisher of New Castle; daughter-in-law: Joni Tabor of New Castle; sisters: Frances Louise Gorman of Knightstown, Sue (Wilbur) Cross of New Castle and Corrine Bauman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Betty Jo (Bill) Chase of St. Cloud, Florida; sister-in-law: Gay Madden of Russell, Kentucky; brother-in-law: Tom Vestal of New Castle; eleven grandchildren: Shawn Tabor, Chad (Amy) Tabor, Zachary Tabor, Eric (Brittney) Laurie, Adam (Chan) Tabor, Matthew (Paige) Tabor, Brittani (Seth) Lee, Justin Laurie, Christopher Clemens, Megan Clemens and Sharon (John) Hobbs; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Steve Tabor; sisters: Geraldine Bradley, Chloe Jean Butler, Lois Ann Vestal and Diana Kay Madden; brother: Fred E. Madden; brothers-in-law: Harold Bradley, Rev. Bobby Butler and Howard Bauman.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Northside Church of God with Brothers Phil Brown and Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 15 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Steve Tabor Youth Fund, 3804 S. Timothy Lane, New Castle, IN 47362 or to the Henry County Cancer Society, c/o Henry County Community Foundation, 700 S.
