Jeraldine "Jerry" Wright

Jeraldine “Jerry” Wright, 89, of New Castle passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home. She was born February 3, 1932 in New Castle to the late Virgil and Gladys (Cole) Tinkle.

She was a 1949 graduate of New Castle High School and retired from Modernfold after 25 years of service. Jerry loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and music. Jerry’s main focus in life was taking care of others and raising her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce Wright, Brent Wright, Brian (Sheila) Wright; daughters, Lynn Wright and Marla (Ron) Beach all of New Castle; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; niece, Debra Jo DuVendeck; close friends and neighbors, Tom and Millie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband, Tom Wright; sister, Linda K. Newby, daughter-in-law, Carolinda Wright and stepmother, Fern Tinkle.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will following in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1p.m. until the time of the service.
