Jill Fitzhugh, 76, of New Castle passed away Sunday, October 20,2019 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born October 14, 1943 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of the late Joseph and Leo Jeannette (Hall) Horseman.
She was a 1961 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School and a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse. Jill retired from the State of Indiana after 40 years of service, 30 years at New Castle State Hospital and 10 years at Division of Family & Children. She was a past member at the Henry County Humane Society, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and Lifeline for the Battered.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Hazel Horseman of Paris, IL; nephew, Steven Horseman of Raleigh, IL; niece, Rebecca Cloe of Herrick, IL; several great nieces & nephews; three cousins; Martha Russell of Grove City, OH, Linda (Jim) Hale of Grove City, OH and Jeannine (Dan) Gurley of Tampa, FL; special friend, Barbara(George) Lacy of Spiceland.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Loren Fitzhugh and a brother Richard Bruce Horseman.
At Jill’s request, there will be no services. In Lieu of flowers Jill requested donations be made to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362 or the Westminster Community Center, 2600 C Ave. New Castle, IN 47362.
