John Phillip Bach, Jr., 87, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 15, 1931 in New Castle to the late John and Grace (Sweigart) Bach Sr.
He served in the US Army from 1952 – 1954 as Mess Sergeant in company M 151st division in Ft. Jackson S. Cardina during the Korean War. John belonged to the Moose Lodge 147 and Moose Legion Trail 36 where he served as Vice President of Legion and Trustee in the lodge and organized the Moose golf league. He retired from White Westinghouse in Connersville after 20 years of service. John enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, camping, woodworking, watching midget and sprint car racing. He especially loved spending time and playing cards with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Wayne) Weddle of New Castle; sister, Mary (Jesse) Dalton of Greensboro, daughters-in-law, Rhonda (Jeff) Bach-Razor and Virgie Bach of New Castle; 6 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Bach whom he married on June 30, 1951, children, Debi Wiley, Jerry Bach and Rick Bach; sister, Linda Goff; grandchildren, Jon Wiley, Richard Bach and Treva Bach; great-grandchildren, Caleb Bach and Tyler Blevins; son-in-law, Stanley Wiley.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bob Case officiating. Military honors will be provided by contingents from the US Army, VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. prior to the service.
