John A. Ellington

John A. Ellington, 67, of New Castle passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born July 21, 1953 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Deward and Bonnie (Ferrell) Ellington.

John retired from Visteon Corporation in Connersville in 2002 after 30 years of service. He was affectionately known as “Cool Breeze” by his coworkers. A handyman, he could fix anything. John enjoyed riding his Harley Motorcycle, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Debra (Bell) Ellington, whom he married June 23, 1974; three daughters, Jennifer Goode, Tara Ellington and Jamie Ellington, all of New Castle; five grandchildren, Jonathon, Isabelle, Brody, Piper & Avery; sister, Linda Ellington of New Castle and several nephews & special friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating.
