Josephine Walters

Josephine “Mom” (Mastin) Walters, 85, of New Castle passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 17, 1933 in Henry County to the late Herbert and Margie (Warner) Mastin.

She retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 33 years of service. Josephine was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy Thompson, Karen (Tony) Pennycuff and Sharon (Frankie) Perdue all of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Vicki Walters of New Castle; grandchildren, Steven Thompson of New Castle, Ben (Michelle) Walters of New Castle, Adam (Chelsea) Walters of Muncie, Ashley (Kenny) Herran of New Castle, Jessie (Elisabeth) Hawila of Dallas ,TX and Ryan Perdue (Payton Anderson) of New Castle; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Jayce, Grayson, Blake, Callie, Addy and Hadley; brother, Jerry Mastin of New Castle; sister, Norma (Sterlie) Dishman of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil A. Walters in 2007; son, Mike Walters in August 2018; siblings, Herb Mastin, John Mastin, Jim Mastin, Jane Estelle, Clyde Mastin, Clifford Mastin and Larry Mastin.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
