Joyce D. Wood

Joyce D. Wood, 71, of New Castle passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Heritage House of New Castle. She was born April 17, 1950 in Brandy Keg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Betty (Prater) Baker.

Joyce was a very loving person. She had a great love for her daughters and her family and friends. If she knew you, chances are, she loved you. Joyce had an open-door policy with both people and animals. Her online community of friends were very important and enjoyed interacting with them on a daily basis. Most important was Joyce’s daily interaction with God as her faith was a very important part of her life.

Survivors include daughters, Josette Wood and Angelique Wood, both of New Castle; brothers, Mark Arbaugh and Charles Goble, both of Lorain, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, April Michelle Blevins.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Tom McGillard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Arthritis Foundation, 615 N.
