Judith A. Conley, 78, of New Castle went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born April 3, 1943 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Horace Paul and Helen Louise (Hudson) Himes.
A 1961 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, she attended Ball State University. Judi retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1995 where she had worked for 6 plants as an accounting specialist. She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she served as JOY Club treasurer for 17 years and Sunday school secretary. She was also involved in the Ladies Bible Study and Caravans. Judi was formerly a member of New Hope Church in Lewisville. She enjoyed working crossword and Sudoku puzzles as well as spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include step daughters, Deborah (Joel) Sensing of Nashville, TN and Kathryn (Rex, Jr.) Criswell of New Castle; step son, Robert (Jennifer) Conley of Bethpage, TN; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (James “Obee”) O’Bryant, Natalie (Dominick) LaMonte, Mary Beth (Jason) Gardiner, Matthew (Whitney) Sensing, Nathan (Alicia) Criswell, Austin Conley (fiancé, Britt Casson) and Alan Conley; 10 great-grandchildren, Brendon, Gavin and Katelyn O’Bryant, Knox Sensing, Addison, Carson and Emerson Gardiner and Cooper, Colton and Brooks Criswell and one on the way; brother, Bruce (Laurel) Himes of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mendon Conley, whom she married on Easter Sunday, April 19, 1987 and a step son, Stephen Conley.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Pastors Brent Hickman, Danny Goddard and Norwood Kreuzinger officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
