Judith “Judy” Ann Spence, 73, of Monticello, Kentucky and formerly of Carthage, Indiana passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at her residence. She was born October 17, 1947 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Caleb and Mary (Cox) Marsh.
She was a 1965 graduate of Carthage High School and later worked for Jefferson Smurfit (Container Corp.) for 23 years before retiring as an Administrative Assistant. Judy enjoyed fishing, traveling to Florida, working in her flower gardens, Christmas time but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Loran Spence; children, Laura Spence of New Castle, Michael (Darla) Spence of Princeton, Indiana and Brian Spence of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Christopher, Jerrod, Daniel, Elizabeth, Tiffany, Joseph, Hunter, Haiden, Erika and Leanna; five great grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Ray, Jeannie Kenny both of Greenfield and Larry Marsh of Kennard and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service starting at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Due to the Governor’s mandate, masks will be required.
