Judy Jeffers

Judy Jeffers, 78, of Knightstown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 1, 2021 after extended complications from surgery. She was born February 23, 1943 in Greenfield.

A 1961 graduate of Warren Central High School, she spent over 20 years working for Indiana Insurance in Indianapolis. She and her husband, Leonard, moved to Tennessee in 1990, where they shared mail delivery routes for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years. From these years in Tennessee, she became an avid Lady Vols fan, and she and her husband watched and attended their games.

Judy loved her family, and loved people in general. She had a caring spirit, and was a planner and organizer. She had a remarkable memory, always keeping track of all her family and friends, and their endeavors. In her later years, her assistance with her friends at her apartment complex gave her purpose and was much appreciated. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in New Castle for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children, Becky (Steve) Hibbert of Knightstown, and Leonard (Peggy) Jeffers of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Amber (Aaron) Boggs of Knightstown, Brad Hibbert and Cody Hibbert, both of Knightstown; Taylor (Matt) Inpongpan of Indianapolis; Dylan and Peyton Jeffers, both of Indianapolis; four great grandchildren, Adeline, Anna, Amelia, and Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Velva (Truesdel) Query, and her husband, Leonard Jeffers.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. noon, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Rev. Stephen Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
